CIH Housing qualifications

 

The below qualifications are all delivered primarily through taught sessions by an expert tutor, either as an in-house course where there is a requirement to train multiple learners or as a regional open course.

Each of the below qualifications will have a number of assignments to complete.

They can also form part of the relevant Housing Apprenticeship standards

  • CIH Level 2 Certificate in Housing Practice

    This qualification aims to…

    • provide learners with a basic understanding of housing,
    • introduce some of the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in housing related activities whether paid or voluntary,
    • prepare learners for further study at level 3

    Learners will study four units and complete four assignments. The qualification usually takes around 6-7 months to achieve

  • CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice

    This qualification aims to…

    • Provide the knowledge and skills required to operate effectively in a frontline capacity in the housing sector.
    • Prepare learners for further study at level 3 and progression to qualifications at level 4.

    Learners will study eight units and complete five assignments. The qualification usually takes around 10 – 11 months to achieve.

  • CIH Level 3 Certificate in supporting Homeless people

    This qualification aims to…

    • Develop the skills and knowledge for supporting homeless people.
    • Enable learners to develop approaches within their organisations to achieve successful outcomes for their clients.
    • Prepare learners for further study at level 3 and progression to qualifications at level 4.

    Learners will study four units and complete four assignments. The qualification usually takes around 6-7 months to achieve.

    It is a qualification designed specifically for the frontline homelessness workers and produced following extensive consultation with a wide range of homelessness organisations. It is delivered as a series of interactive workshops.

  • CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing

    This qualification aims to…

    • Provide the knowledge and skills required to operate effectively at a management level in the housing sector.
    • Prepare learners for further study in housing related qualifications at level 5 / undergraduate level.

    Learners will study six units and complete six assignments. The qualification usually takes around 11-12 months to achieve.

  • CIH Level 5 Diploma in Housing

    The qualification aims to…

    • Provide the knowledge and skills required for a strategic housing management role.
    • Prepare learners for further study in housing related qualifications at level 6 / undergraduate level.
    • Meet the expectations for CIH chartered membership on completion of the additional unit Professional Practice Skills for Housing.

    Learners will study six units and complete six assignments. The qualification usually takes around 12 months to achieve.
