Prevent & British Values

Prevent is the Governments strategy to stop people becoming involved in violent extremism or supporting terrorism.

What does Prevent have to do with me?

As a training provider we have a responsibility to recognise, respond and report any concerns if we believe that an individual is at risk of being radicalised. This is part of our safeguarding duties.

Radicalisation is a process by which an individual or group comes to adopt increasingly extreme political, social, or religious ideals and aspirations that reject or undermine the status quo or reject and/or undermine contemporary ideas and expressions of freedom of choice.

Radicalistion can be triggered by a one-off event or can happen over a period of time. There is no single route.

In order to build resilience to radicalisation we are committed to promoting fundamental British values and challenge extremist views.

The fundamental British values are;
