What can Housing Apprenticeships do for your organisation? Apprenticeships are growing in popularity as employers see the benefits of employing young enthusiastic employees who are studying towards nationally recognised qualifications. The Government fully supports the Apprenticeship Scheme and is increasing the funding in this area, giving you the opportunity to maximise your staff training and development. A Housing Apprenticeship gives a young person the opportunity to work within your company whilst studying for a Level 2 Apprenticeship or a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. Apprentices can be recruited on your behalf, or they can be taken from your existing pool of employees. What are the benefits to the organisation of employing apprentices? You employ a 16-24 year old who commits to a 12 to 24 month programme with training and support funded by the government. The apprentice does not have to work full time. The apprentice must be employed a minimum of 16 hours per week. The skills learnt benefit not only the apprentice but the entire workforce by increasing knowledge and skill levels. The apprentice gains real experience in the workplace whilst receiving comprehensive training and support in addition to a weekly wage.
